Description
Observer's and air gunner's flying log book for James Inward covering the period 21 February 1942 to 30 September 1944. Details training and operations flown. He served at RAF Middleton St George, RAF Fayid, RAF Riccall and RAF Burn. Aircraft flown were Halifax I, II and III. James flew 46 operations as an engineer, 38 0f which were at night, with 35 Squadron, 76 Squadron and 578 Squadron. Operations were Belgium, France, Germany, Greece and Libya. Targets were to Aulnoye, Anderlecht, Achères, Bois de Cassan, Bonn, Bottrop, Bremen, Calais, Cologne, Düsseldorf, Eden, Essen, Halfaya Pass, Karlsruhe, Kiel, Le Havre, Lille, Maleme, Mannheim, Mont Fleury Battery, Osnabruck, Ottignies, Palaiseau, Sidi Barrani, Siracourt, Stuttgart, Tergnier, Thiverny, Titlemont, Tobruk, Warnemünde and Wirwignes. His pilots on operations were Squadron Leader Brown, Pilot Officer Wickham, Flight Sergeant Alcock, Wing Commander Wilberson, Pilot Officer Barton, Pilot Officer Henderson, Pilot Officer Heuston, Flight Sergeant Connop, and Squadron Leader Daw.
