Description
Wireless Operator/Air Gunner’s log book for H C Rouse covering the period from 11 October, 1940 to 16 December, 1945. Detailing his flying training and operations flown, also includes Gunnery Course results, mine laying operations, bomb loads, a crash landing. He was stationed at RAF Yatesbury (2 E&WS), RAF Jurby (5 AOS), RAF Wellesbourne Mountford (22 OTU), RAF Coningsby, RAF Tattershall Thorpe/RAF Woodhall Spa (97 Squadron), RAF Scampton (GTF). Aircraft flown in were Dominie, Proctor, Blenheim, Anson, Wellington, Manchester, Lancaster. He flew 26 night time operations with 97 Squadron. Targets were Hamburg, Heligoland, Trondheim, Stuttgart, Kiel, Warnemunde, Copenhagen, Mannheim, Kassel, Nurnberg, Frankfurt, Dusseldorf, Wismar, Krefeld, Genoa, Bordeaux, Turin, Danzig. This item was sent to the IBCC Digital Archive already in digital form. No better quality copies are available. His pilots on operations were Pilot Officer Maltby and Pilot Officer Lancey.
