My dear Mum,
Thanks for the washing which I received today and I am risking sending a further parcel hoping I won’t get drafted suddenly. If anything does turn up though, I will wire you, then you can send it on as soon as possible. I don’t know why the parcel should have taken so long in arriving my only conclusion that it was held up until Monday at the Sub Post Office, so I am posting this one at the General hoping you get it by Monday.
At present we are still continuing lessons, as this

weeks draft is complete, but I am expecting to hear tomorrow whether I shall be going next week. I can generally tell when we are going out a few days beforehand, so I will write and let you know. Don’t worry too much about me going away, for I shall be O.K.
