Alfred Jack Coman’s Flying Log Book covering the period from 20 August 1943 to 01 August 1946 detailing his operations flown as Wireless Operator. He was stationed at RAF Madley (4 Radio School), RAF Millom (2 OAFU), RAF Market Harborough and RAF Husbands Bosworth (14 OTU), RAF Wigsley (1654 HCU), RAF Syerston (5 LFS), RAF Metheringham (106 Squadron), RAF Bitteswell, Bramcote and Nuneaton (105 OTU), RAF Welford (Transport Command CU) and RAF Kemajoram (31 Squadron). Aircraft flown in were Dominie, Proctor, Anson, Wellington, Stirling, Lancaster and Dakota. He flew on 25 night and 11 day operations with 106 Squadron total 36. His pilots Warrant Officer Kipper, Flight Lieutenant Daniel, Flying Officer Penny, Wing Commander Stevens, Flying Officer Ambrose and Flying Officer Hamilton), Targets were Marquise, St Pierre Dumont, Caen, Pomeraival, St Leu d’Esserent, Villeneuve, Nevers, Troissy St Maximum, Lorient, Sequeville, Chatellerault, Bordeaux, Brunswick, Quesney, Gilze-Rijen, Stettin (mining), Munchen Gladbach, Darmstadt, Boulogne, Bremerhaven, Rheydt, Heilbronn, Giessen, Houffalize, Dresden, Rositz, Oslo Fjord (mining), Wurzburg, Bohlem, Bremen, Lutzkendorf and Nordhausen.
From 1945 to 1946 he flew many transport sorties during the operations in the Dutch East Indies.
