Description

Flight Sergeant H Maddox’s Flying Log Book as an Air Gunner from 2nd August 1944 until 24th July 1945. Initial training at No. 3 Bombing and Gunnery School in Canada. Training continued at Operational Training Unit 11 and 1699 Training Flight/Heavy Conversion Unit. Posted to 214 Squadron for operations.

Served at RCAF Macdonald, Manitoba, RAF Westcott, RAF Oakley, RAF Oulton.

Aircraft flown were Tiger Moth, Harvard, Norseman, Hudson, Anson, Fortress III, Cessna Crane, Oxford, C47, Wellington, Monaspar, Hind, Bolingbroke, Vincent.

Carried out 3 night operations as rear gunner dropping window with 214 Squadron to Schleswig-Holstein and Lübeck. Also three Special Duties flights after the war ended.
His pilot on all operations was Flying Officer Kemmett.
