Dear Win,

Sorry to see you can’t obtain any note paper in your particular area, (or so I presume) so I am enclosing a piece for you.

By the way how do you like my effort at tinting photo’s, one of the boys does a good bit of it, so I borrowed some of his equipment & tried my hand at it, & the enclosed is my mighty effort (any rude remarks made in future letters will be completely ignored)

Our board will be coming off quite soon now, although I don’t quite know when, but a week after the board we get some leave, so the sooner the better.

The next time I want to be an engineer on anything, I think an ordinary cycle will be ample for my needs.

Well I am now about to partake of my legal ration of foodstuff & liquid that comprises our sunday [sic] tea & then go to the N.A.A.F.I. & get something to eat,

Best Wishes,

[underlined] Jim [/underlined]
