My dear May & Will

Oh my dears, how sorry we all are for you in the terrible news about Reg. I could not open your letter yesterday for a few minutes, for I felt there was bad news inside about Reg. He has been so often in my thoughts when big raids were on.

I hope you may have heard or will hear something more definite, for it is the suspense that is so heartbreaking.

Words of mine would be futile to try & comfort you in this sad time, but you have all our sympathy, for I know what it must mean to you.
