NUMBER 56
Kriegsgefangenenlager
Datum: 20-2-43.
I have discovered that the anonymous parcel of 4 books came from Stockholm one book in the parcel was banned. Today I received 200 Churchman - apparently from you - thank you, darling - I'm well stocked for a few weeks now. I played my first game of Soccer this year two days ago & hope to indulge in Rugger too. I want a regular game this year, if possible for I feel so much fitter than last year. What is your honest opinion of the date of my return - if you feel that you may disclose it; but don't encourage me with false optimism - I'd sooner expect the worst. My bet is still 1944. We have had a beautifully mild winter here & are looking forward to spring already. Hope you & Frances are flourishing. Love to all. John.
