Navigator’s, air bomber’s and air gunner’s flying log book for George Thomas Hagues, air gunner, covering the period from 12 September 1943 to 12 September 1944, when he failed to return from operations. He was stationed at 7 Air Gunnery School RAF Stormey Down, 83 Operational Training Unit RAF Peplow, 1481 (Bomber) Gunnery Flight RAF Binbrook, 1662 Conversion Unit RAF Blyton, 1 Lancaster Finishing School RAF Hemswell and 625 Squadron RAF Kelstern. Aircraft flown in were Anson, Wellington, Halifax, and Lancaster. He flew a total of 23 operations with 625 squadron, 12 night and 11 daylight operations. Targets were Mailly-le-Camp, Le Clipon, Reims, Ley Neyons, Vaires, Siracourt, Veirzon, Neuville, Tours, Wizernes, Ardouval, Paulliac, Fontenay Le Pin, Stettin, Ghent, Russelsheim, Kiel, Daiment, Gilz-Risen, Le Havre and Frankfurt. His pilots on operations were Pilot Officer Beetham, Flight Lieutenant Hamilton, Pilot Officer Wilson, Pilot Officer Cornish, Flying Officer Minnis, and Flight Lieutenant Banks.
