Darling Mother
We will be off in a few hours from now [symbol] well on the way by the time you get this.
We are leaving at 4am. tomorrow (Thursday) morning [symbol] should arrive in Egypt on Friday afternoon.
It has been an [indecipherable word]
[page break]
rush since we came up here trying to get all the last things fixed up. I think everything is settled now. The weather improved over Europe very suddenly and we are seizing the first opportunity of getting away.
The mouth is still rather tender in places, but no more pain. I saw the dentist here about the other 2 and he said they could well be left like I rethinked [sic], and it was
[page break]
All rather important that I could chew on one side of the mouth.
I do hope Marcus is behaving and that Gerald will [indecipherable word] him somehow this week end.
I here [indecipherable word] thanked Margaret [symbol] Cecil for their kindness.
I had a note from Ross today enclosing the receipt for the car. I am afraid the estimate they were going to sent on to me will arrive
[page break]
too late, so I am leaving instructions for all the mail to be addressed to you and I should like Ross to vet the estimate and give them the OK to go ahead with the work. I assume he gave them my list of instructions.
Well goodbye to you for the moment
I’ll be seeing you again in a few weeks time.
All my love to you
Richard
