JULY 12. 1942.

My dear Mair, I received another letter from you last week, dated May 24th – Nancy seems to have done very well at school and everyone back home seems to be full of beans. Oh yes you might fatten up one of those six ducklings for my christmas [sic] dinner – I’ll drop in and collect it personally too. It is very good of you to keep writing and believe me it certainly is great to get your letters. You might let them know at ‘Hafryn’ when you get my cards so that they know I am still kicking. I get some very amusing letters from Honor and you might send her many thanks via Nancy. I get plenty of games here as I am in the football, rugby, cricket and boxing teams, not to mention running and general athletics. We have a novice’s boxing competition. By the time I get home I will probably have a broken nose and cauliflower ears. How would you like a guy like that for a boy friend – Lots of Love to you Mair, dear, and best regards to the family – Brian xxx.
