With reference to the letter from this department dated the 24th September 1941, I am directed to inform you that in view of the lapse of time and the absence of any news concerning your husband Wing Commander A.L. Christian, since he was reported missing, it is now proposed to take action to presume his death for official purposes.
I am accordingly to ask that you will be good enough formally to confirm that you have received no further evidence or news regarding him.
