Description

A vertical aerial photograph of Mainz Hoesch Benzin Synthetic Oil Plant, and Westfalenhutte steelworks located north-east of Dortmund city. The image shows cloud, craters, and extensive bomb damage amongst the predominately factory and other industrial buildings. Many railway lines and sidings can be seen across the top, along the bottom and also running from top to bottom amongst the industrial plants. Brügmanns Hölzchen and the running tracks of Hoesch Park are situated on the bottom left of the photograph, with the Brackeler Straße below running left to right and railway engine sheds standing out on the lines beneath.
