Yours of 29th Aug here, [censored word] still to come. Thrilled to hear of your Marathon to Chalfont etc & sorry the trip wasn’t more fruitful. You certainly do your level best, much more than any other wives, I bet. Best of luck darling but don’t overdo it. I am amazed at your energy – such a contrast to my helplessness. Was delighted to receive Kaysers studies – came in quick time & at an opportune moment. I badly needed fresh material. Am still short of strings. My instrument is repaired fairly well but I am still struggling to get practice room. I can’t see why you haven’t been getting my mail. I write as often as I can. I’m afraid this isn’t a very [censored words] side. [censored words] like the current news though. Love to both John
