Shall continue writing to Lido until I get another address from you. Terribly sorry to hear that my letters are not reaching you & cannot understand why. Still haven’t got over the disappointment re High House. I didn’t realise what a kick I got out of picturing you & ours in a home of our own. To make my uphill fiddle struggle worse, my instrument has started to disintegrate (it wasn’t of high quality anyway) & pending efforts by fellow Kriegies to repair it I am using one which had been rejected by everyone else. Of course, I have nowhere to practise but I snatch every opportunity of a few minutes when & where ever possible. It’s a grim business & sometimes I think of desisting because everything seems against me. When are we going to be together again, dearest? I hope Frances will like me when she sees me. Love
John
