The anticipated gap in mail continues & I have little news. Despite many caustic comments from the fellows, my fiddle practice in the block latrine continues – I muffle the instrument as much as possible & produce the most awful squeaks but they are not loud ones. I also have another job about which I’ll tell you later, I find the time passing well. I went to a German doctor today about my nose & am going again tomorrow for a more thorough examination. Equipment is very limited here but the doctor is most sympathetic & anxious to be of real assistance. I have been tasteless often for nearly 7 months now. Don’t forget your holiday
With fondest love
John.
