NUMBER 27
Kreigsgefangenenlager
Datum: 24-4-43
Nothing fresh to report to you, & no more to acknowledge. Do you know that we have spent only 1 Easter together? I remember it vividly, cycling to the Cotswolds & back. It was a gorgeous time I remember every little incident such as burst tyres, swearing. I don’t expect to be with you next Easter either nor are there any signs yet that we shall be united by the one after next. We have had some glorious weather here already. Yesterday it was almost 80o in the shade. We certainly have a superb climate although I’d sooner be in Britain any day. Some more new arrivals are expected tomorrow & we shall be back to our original sardine strength of 164 per barrack. I hope you & Frances will have a real holiday this year. Fondest love
John.
