Sir,
I am directed to inform you that although you ceased to hold the paid acting rank of Group Captain with effect from 25/10/43 the pay appropriate to this rank continued in issue until 30/11/43 resulting in an overissue of pay amounting to £25..5..8 (37 days at 18/8 a day)
I therefore request you will be good enough to forward at an early date your proposals for a refund of this amount. In the absence of a reply with three weeks of the date of this letter arrangements will be made to recover the overissue from your pay at a rate not exceeding one quarter of the net monthly issue.
I am Sir your obedient Servant,
S Chanterns
For Director of Accounts.
