[underlined] PART II [/underlined]
Dear Mum, Dad, Hazel and Norman,
I hope you have received PART I of this airgraph. I was interested to learn from the latest airgraph from home that Norman has moved to Maidenhead. I should imagine it’s a very interesting place. I’d like to know his address – it will probably arrive on one of his letters in the near future.
I’ve been having a good time here in E. London considering the proximity of the exams and the great amount of work we have to get through. For the past 4 weeks Fred (Rolph) and I have been the Sunday guests of Dr. Smyth and family and we have thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. You would have been amused if you’d seen me last night helping Dr. Smyth’s niece, Dorita, to transfer [underlined] all [/underlined] her goods and chattels by car from her former lodgings to her new hotel. In this “flit”, Fred and Dorothy (the 2nd lieutenant daughter of Dr. Smyth) also helped. Fred struggled into the car with a pile of clothes and sat down almost submerged. I piled all my stuff on top of the poor blighter and sat in front as there was no more room at the back. I thought it was a neat manoeuvre. God bless you all. Ron XXXXXX
