Dear Bill,
Received your letter on Saturday & as I have a bit of time to spare I thought I would drop you a line. I’m going along fine & hope you are the same. Doreen said that she had seen you coming back from the pictures but she didn’t say that you had frightened her.
Well Albion certainly put up a good show on Saturday & I hope they can keep up their

unbeaten record. I hope you enjoyed the match at Villa Park & by the sounds of it, it must have been quite interesting
It looks as if it was a good show at the schools the other night & I hope you enjoyed it.
I notice that you are still getting the subscriptions in. & it looks as if you are getting things organised O.K.
It certainly looks as if Irene will have an enjoyable time with Eric on 28 days leave & I shall very likely see him when I get over.
I’ll bet it’s shaken old Roy Hotchkiss to be called up for the pits but you haven’t any option have you. Walsall Corp.

are certainly opening their hearts to buy so many new buses & I’ll bet they haven’t many of the old ones left by now. A proper defeat for Scotland at Wembley wasn’t it & we pulled the Scotch member of the crew’s leg about it.
I don’t know what the weather is like over there but it is very bad here & we have had a terrible lot of rain.
There is an All Girl Variety Show on camp to-night so I think I shall be paying a visit. I hope your Mum & Dad are well, Bill, & please remember me to them.
The old leave is drawing round again & I should be

seeing you a week on Thursday night. Well Bill I don’t think there is any more news to tell you so for now all the best be seeing you soon.
