Thanks her for letter and padlock. Says he was glad he had had a car as the basic training on engines came easily to him unlike many of his course mates. Writes a little about the organisation of the camp and his classes. Mentions classes in hangars, benches, engines and instructors. Continues with home issue and describes having to do guard duty. Comments on food in camp, other training apart from engines, daily routines and facilities on the camp itself. Mentions ENSA concerts with some description of entertainment provided. Writes about colleagues arriving back drunk. Writes about problems with magnetisation of watches and how he could get his demagnetized.
