Bob Butler appears in a photograph on page 105, bottom left, where he is shown watching a fellow airman load a flare into a chute on a bomber.
Campaigns reported include: attacks on a German Panzer convoy sailing from Palermo to Tripoli; action in Greece and North and East Africa; Bombing of Germany and Berlin and the Battle of Britain
Also includes articles on Fighter Command defence of British airfields, the design of seaplanes and the use of booms to defend ports.
The Sphere was printed in England by The Illustrated London News and Sketch Ltd and published weekly by Illustrated Newspapers Ltd.
