Verona Marshalling Yards and Budapest War Cemetery

Description

First is a target photograph taken during an operation to Verona. In the lower left corner is the Adige River with the Ponte Pietra crossing it. The large building to the left of the river bend is the Castel San Pietro. The ancient city wall, with its forts, can be seen entering the image at the lower edge and curving left and then right and up to the top edge. The upper left corner contains fields. The photograph is annotated 'A4' and captioned:
'1946. 104/11 10/11 OCT. 44. F8"//NT 6,300 →240°. 240 VERONA.M/Y.
N. 9 x 500. 3 x 250. MKIII.20. P/O BIRD (SGT DEAN B/A). K'

The second is of Budapest War Cemetery which has a monument in the centre and rows of white headstones either side. It overlooks the countryside. Below the photograph is handwritten 'BUDAPEST WAR CEMETARY [sic] WHERE SOME CREWS ARE BURIED'
