Friday,
My dearest Jean,
Thanks so much for your last letter written on Tuesday, I should have dropped you a line yesterday but as I expect Mother has mentioned I hoped to have got home for 48 hours this weekend, however they were short of crews and some of our crew had to fly.
Jack should be back on Sunday so expect we shall start flying straight away, theres been quite a lot doing lately, the squadron have been flying over Germany to list the German radar

equipment and they are actually making mock attacks on towns, expect our radar experts are getting bags of useful gen to use against the Japanese.
I had a letter from Aunt Lill a few days ago and she said they won't be able to come to the wedding as Uncle George had fixed his holiday for the 11th July, also the crew wont be coming as they are going on leave on the 13th July, at least they hope so as two of them have booked up for holidays.

Regarding the photographs I think it would be better taken at the Church but we can decide definately as I hope to get a 48 hour pass before then. We can settle everything then, if we have them taken at the Zoo expect we shall get an appreciative audience. I don’t take a very good view of that!
Am pleased to hear that we are still collecting presents, thank Dad very much for the mat set he gave us, now we only want the table! I beleive [sic] I mentioned that I’m bringing four towels home.
Well, darling not a lot to write about, have been calculating the amount of petrol required, it should be in the bag, also

shall be able to scrounge enough to run 250 miles when we get there.
Well say cheerio for the time being, give my love to Mother and Dad.
