Dear Winnie,

Thank you for the letter, glad you managed to get some thing you wanted with the money, I couldn’t think of any thing to buy you.

The landing at Anglesea [sic] happened when we were at our last station, we had some engine trouble.

It seems to me you have a pretty good time at the expense of the Institute, well if they have any more spare money & want a deserving cause to get rid of it on, just give them my address.

The camp I’m at now is pretty good, but the only trouble is we do not get any days off, but instead we [deleted] get [/deleted] get 10 days leave every [deleted] six [/deleted] [inserted] eight [/inserted] weeks, I guess you joined the wrong

outfit.

We had a pretty good leave & went to Jack’s wedding first & then proceeded to give London the once over.

I now have a few French & one German trip to my credit, so I feel a proper operational type now.

Thats [sic] the lot for now,

Best of Luck
