My dear Mum, Dad & Fmly, [sic] I have received another batch of mail, it arrived two days ago, 5 letters in all. One was from Pat containing the photo Dad took in April, I thought this one had been lost in the post, as I understood in my previous letters that it was enclosed with the small portrait. Anyway I’ve got it now, its very good indeed, the hat – well will you ask Pat whether she’s patronising the Airborne troops or have the Airforce had a change over in headgear! The other four letters are from you, May & Vera, & Doris. The one from you was the very first you wrote, enclosing photos its funny how the mail is delayed at times, the photos are good I cannot say I’ve seen them before though except the one of Harold & Stan. I’m very glad to know that you’ve heard from some of the parents of my crew, if there’s any news of the others please let me know. John is still OK here and has just had four letters. The other letters are dated 26th May & 3, 4 and 6th June. May & Vera seem OK, & Doris writes well, - a good incite into all of you! Hows the cameras Dad? & when is Harold starting is [sic] second-hand shop? Well I haven’t given you much news, there’s very little really I read you are getting POW news through Red Cross, have you had any on this camp? The weather is still fairly kind to us, classes are still going OK, though of course facilities cannot be all they might be, and they more or less help to fill in time beneficially, I’ve just seen “Barretts of Wimpole St” & the show is well up to standard. Must close now I’m sure I’ll see you all soon it seems inevitable to me. Love to all
