Thank you ever so for your letter with news of Reg. I did not know that anything had happened to him but, Im [sic] sure you will understand, I am thankful that he has been spared and is safe and unhurt. Our wishes to him for a safe and speedy return home to you are more emphatic than ever.
May I thank you too for sending cigarettes to him, may he enjoy every one.
With our united wishes and prayers for you both
