My dear Bessie
I know this letter is a bit delayed but, I dont [sic] know, we seem to have dropped off writing to each other quite a lot.
I dont [sic] know why, because I still think quite a lot about you & I [deleted] k [/deleted] somehow dont [sic] like the idea of you getting married. It wont seem quite the same. Did you see Yankee Doodle Dandy. Well I feel about like James Cagney did when his sister got married.
Well I suppose you wont think much of me talking or rather writing
[page break]
like this but it must be that brotherly feeling in me.
Well, whats [sic] cooking down your way? Anything new. There’s nothing much happening round here only a lot of hard work. We work now from 1/4 past 7 until 6 o’clock all day & every day. We never know one day from another & only 1 hr of [sic] for dinner. Here I go grumbling again. I suppose you have enough to put up with, without me “binding” [underlined] every [/underlined] time I write. Well I’ll see if I can change the subject.
Did you know Gladys was, or is going in the A.T.S. I dont [sic] know what as, but she seems as if she wants to get out of Holbeach.
[page break]
When are you going home on leave again? Have you altered it? You were going on the 19th the last time I heard from you, dont [sic] forget to let me know if you are not going on that date & I’ll see if I can get mine at the same time
Well, I started writing this letter to you & got stuck with it so I’ve started two more since then & I keep adding a bit on each.
Well Bessie I cant think of any more to write about just now & Its [sic] getting late so.
Cheerio Lots of Love
Ken
