Dear Eleanor,
I have just received your airgraph dated the 27th Nov, and you can guess my surprise when I opened it and found your name at the bottom, at first I thought that one of my old flames had caught up with me. I am glad to hear that you were one of the bridesmaids at Lily's wedding I certainly wish that I could have been there to see my dear little sister get married, that is the one thing I hoped I would never miss. All I hope now is that I don't miss my own, but still I won't have to worry about that for some time to come. Thank you very much for wishing me a Happy Birthday, to tell you the truth I forgot all about it untill[sic] two days after, that's because I am wrapped up in my work too much. I am afraid I always was too concientious[sic]. You mentioned in your airgraph that the usherettes at the local cinemas would be missing me now, well i'll have you know that I went to those "joints" for the sole purpose of seeing the picture and not the usherettes. Well Eleanor I am afraid that I must finish now so I will say cheerio, and I hope it won't be long before you see me hanging round the lamposts up the broadway again.
All the very best Fred.[?]
