Dear Allan.
Just a few lines in answer to your Card which we got this morning, I hope these few lines finds you in the best of health as it leaves us all here. We had a letter from Maurice this morning to say he cannot get home for Xmas, But will be home for the new year, he has lost the sight of his left eye also he has a bullet wound in his right arm and one in his left leg but he is in hospital in Scotland. We have also had one from Walter he is in Italy with the Parachute Troops I have had a letter from your Mother and Auntie Lydia this morning also one from your Kathleen I have sent Maurice your address and a P.O.W. Letter so I suppose you will be getting one from him before long. I hope you are getting along very well in Germany, and that you will soon be home again. Well Allan I shall have to close as I want to get post, but I will say thank you very much for your most Welcome Card, So here,s [sic] wishing you a
