Date: 25/3/43.
Dear Hazel,
You should receive this airgraph at about the same time that my weekly airgraph arrives. Just in case the other airgraph does go astray I’ll tell you the chief item of news contained in it. I have passed the exams. and I shall be going to the above address in two days’ time. At present I’m just sitting around with nothing to do.
The weather hasn’t been too good today. It has been drizzling all the time, but it does look a little brighter now and it may clear up. In any case I shall be going to one of the cinemas tonight.
I hope you’re carrying on with the good work at school. If you finish first in the form again you can have another 10/-. Are you still going ahead with the music lessons and what progress are you making?
I judge that I have now been in South Africa for about half the time I shall be here so there’s only the second and much more important half to go. It won’t be so very long before I’m homeward bound. The course I’ve just completed seemed to pass in no time at all. Don’t worry if some of your letters are addressed to 48 Air School and are on the way as they will all be sent on to me. I hope all the family are keeping very well. I must sign off now, Hazel. Cheerio & God bless you. Ron XXXX
