Dear Mum, Dad, Hazel & Norman,
You will probably receive this airgraph at the same time as my previous effort (which was written in 2 parts). I had got a little behind with my [indecipherable word] but am endeavouring to rectify this. The last airgraph from you contained the news of Norman’s remustering to A.N., but I expect I shall be receiving some more airgraphs shortly. I hope you are all safe & well at home. (There was an item in the news today concerning air-raids on E. Coast towns).
I took my 6th exam. today, so now I’ve only 8 more to pass, the next being in three days time. I wonder whether Norman has been posted to his new station yet and whether it will be A.C.R.C. or I.T.W.? Whichever it is, his “sparks” will make things easier for him, as will also his R.A.F. experience.
Walter Suddaby (Sgt.) must have very nearly completed his final training now, going by letters recently arrived. I spent my Sunday with the Smyth’s as usual and met Fred Rolph who was over from Queenstown once more. His course’s football team which he manages is 2nd in their league at present. He has passed everything too so far, so all being well we shall pass out simultaneously at E.L. & Q. Cheerio now, love,
Ron XXXXXX
[inserted] P.S. How are you getting on, [indecipherable word] [/inserted]
