My Dear Joan,
First may I thank you so much for your very sweet letter. Now you will guess how delighted and thankful we were on reading those copies. I can quite imagine how you, too, feel about it all, it must have lifted a very heavy burden for you dear, but I am sure you have been marvellous through the whole ordeal, and may God

reward you, by returning Bob to you in the very near future. I do so hope the nature of his burns are not the severe type, but still, its enlightening to know that he is alive.
Well dear, give my very kind regards to your parents, and perhaps one day we may pop over to see you all as you kindly suggested and when Bob does eventually arrive home, you may be able to visit here.
So God bless you both.
Fondest love.
