My Dearest Mother
Just a few lines to let you know that am still keeping fit. Received two newspapers from you last week, one for the 3rd of January and the other dated 27th December so they took long enough. I saw by one of them that Douglas Leggo was getting married. Seems he’s starting young doesn’t it? Still no letter from you which makes it nearly five weeks now. I really can’t understand it as the newspapers seemed to come through alright. However if I don’t hear anything by the end of this week will cable you.
[page break]
Am afraid there is nothing very much to say just now. At the moment we have started the exams [deleted] we h [/deleted] I mentioned last time I wrote. Got on O.K. so far. Have not had any flying since last I wrote but have not had any snow for a long while now so perhaps we have had the worst. I hope you are all well at home and that the tobacco crop is going to be a success after all You never mention how Buster and family are getting along. Trust they are keeping fit.
Well must close and get on with some work. Hoping to hear form you soon & much love to you all from
Your loving son
Donald
