My Dear Mother & Dad,
I am just writing a short note after I have come off duty, to thank you for your letter enclosing the photographs which arrived at lunch time yesterday.
I am hoping that Mother will be feeling better now & I was glad to learn that Dad’s cold had deserted him.
You will be interested to learn that I went to see the Air Commodore on Tuesday & my commission has now gone through. I should
[page break]
receive it in about two weeks time.
Our young Rooster is still growing strong & keeping fit & so are the boys.
Bye for now, I am going to bed.
All my love & best wishes.
Douglas.
Jack D. is grounded & has gone on 16 days leave!!
