My Dear Mother & Dad,
Just a short note to thank you for your letters received & to tell you that I & the boys are all O.K.
Hope you will excuse me for being brief, but I have been on duty all night & I am in sad need of a wash & bed.
I hope to get away next week on the 6th or 7th but as yet do not know just what time it will be.
[page break]
Am pleased to be able to tell you that the young “pedigree” is still thriving & seems to be well beyond the stage of teething troubles. He is becoming a faithful hound & a favourite with the boys
Well I’ll bid you au-revoir now & send my love & best wishes as at all times.
