STALAG LUFT III
LAGER “A”
Heard results today of Music Exams sat at Luft III. Have passed the simple one – Grammar of Music & a cert is waiting at Royal Schools of Music, London. Try to collect it, please, I failed the papers on Harmony – the first exam failure of my life. The only fellow to pass was he who was trying to instruct us. The frost has failed & we’re back to the awful slush again My early morning efforts at fiddling have resulted in an awful cold – the 2nd already this winter. See if you can get any recompense from Red X for my June parcel which has been lost. Its an awful shame that all the labour in the blanket & money in the slippers should be wasted. I don’t expect they’ll listen but you could try. Still eagerly awaiting housing details. Wish mail was more satisfactory – in both directions. Love to you both. Ever yrs
John
