Your birthday will occur in 3 days time. Would that I could be with you then to wish you well personally & in my own fashion. However I shall think of you more than ever on the 8th (if possible – for you always in my thoughts). Do you ever contemplate the first gorgeous moments of our future reunion – and the subsequent bliss – I can assure you that I do – often. Please give your parents my warmest thanks for the generosity in lending us all that cash to enable you to try for a home. I wonder, though, how we can possible repay them. Am afraid that I shall never see my June parcel. I was looking forward particularly to the slippers and blanket – there’s nothing to be done about it though. Hope you have a really good birthday & a better one next year. My fondest love to you & daughter. Ever yours John
