Dear Old David
Thanks very much for your letter. I have duly celebrated Francis' first birthday and wish her Many Happy Returns.
Well I'm afraid I've got to go to Canada after all. It had been fixed up for me to stay in this country, but Another batch of foreigners arrived for training and thus all vacancies were taken up. Alabaster[?] is coming out with me
[page break]
doing the same thing.
The A.O.C has promised to ask for me back, if I get stuck out there on getting my wings, & I shall see Joe Foggarty in Ottawa with a view to being posted to a decent school. So cheers for 20 weeks, old man.
Was staggered the other day to get a letter from Gordon and even more staggered to read that he is back on Ops.
My kindest regards to Joyce and all the best for Christmas.
Ken
