Wed. morning. Rome.
Sweatheart. I’v [sic] just arrived in Rome after a rotten nights journey from Brindisi. I came straight to the [indecipherable word] Hotel & have got a good room with bath. I’v [sic] just had breakfast & am now going to find out how to get around & see the sights. Later I will call at the Wagon-Lits [sic] office & find out what time my train leaves tomorrow. I think that this is going to be the most interesting place I’v [sic] visited so far. I’m very well dear heart & hope that you & the children are the same. I wonder if Aunt is still with you. With dearest love Roy.
