5th September, 1944.
My Dear Mrs. Wareing,
I am sending you a letter which was given to me by a woman when we entered the town of Fecamp a few days ago. I hope it will do something to re-assure you in your worries. The woman disappeared in the crowd before I could ask any questions.
I hope you soon have very good news – the end of it all and your husband’s safe return.
Yours truly,
J.M. Yeoman.
