Description

Two items. An oral history interview with Flying Officer Mieczyszaw Stachiewicz, Virtuti Militari (b. 1917, 1625, Polskie Siły Powietrzne), and his log book. He came to the UK after the Nazi invasion of Poland and flew operations as a pilot with 301 Squadron from RAF Hemswell.

The collection also contains an album of photographs, newspaper clippings and papers relating to his escape from Poland and his tour of operations.

The collection has been loaned to the IBCC Digital Archive for digitisation by Mieczyszaw Jusef Stachiewicz and catalogued by Barry Hunter.
