My darling Mummy.
Thank you for the letter and teligram [sic] wishing me for my birthday, and for the ruppees [sic] 10 which Daddy sent. I had a happy birthday. You will be glad to hear I am 4th for last months exams. I came 4th in Maths with 81 marks, that’s[sic] much better isn’t it. The weather has again got bad. If it is a good day on the 16th it will be a half holiday. We lost against St.Joseph’s for the Newton cup the score being 1-0, but we still have a chanes [sic]. Our under eleven team lost 3-0. There are only 71 days left for [one deleted letter] going home day. I am glad to hear you did so well in the conceat [sic]. I am ending now with love
