My darling Mummy and Daddy,
Thank you for your letters. I am very sorry to hear about poor Pompon getting a bite. I am sending you 16 more pieces of silver paper. I am glad to hear you were given a Black hound 4 months. old. Is it a Blood Hound.?. [sic] We played the yorks and lanks [sic] B team in Hockey for the John Shield and lost 1-0. We really got a goal in a penalty bully but the referee never gave it so Mr Coombes the captain of our hockey team has written to the secretary about this. We must teach the hound to [deleted] J [/deleted] jump and those sought [sic] of things. I have past [sic] in my master at arms badge in scouts and I know how to cook stew and make an amlet [sic] all by my-self. [sic] I wrote you a letter on friday. I have know [sic] more news. With lots of love and kisses from your loving son David.
