My dear Mum and Dad, My previous optimism seems to have been premature, so here are my best wishes to you for a Happy Christmas even more Prosperous[sic] New Year. My June parcel arrived on my birthday. So the March one should be here soon. My Oxford exam has not arrived yet but I have passed the RSA Spanish elem and inter. Cigs are coming in slowly and it is possible that the food situation (Red +) will improve I hope so! Must stop now, love to you both, Joy and Clive and Towser. John
