My dear Mum and Dad – Great news! At the end of last month I received my “June” parcel, the contents were wonderful and I have written to Mr Gibbs and the C-of-Police. The sleeping bag is now fully operational and in constant use. As a suggestion for future parcels, could you please concentrate on pyjamas, slippers, light underwear, shirts and maybe my dressing gown. I didn’t tell you at the time, but last June I took the R. S. H. elementary and inter. Spanish exams, yesterday I got the results, a Pass with credit for the first, and a second class Hons for the inter. I am now studying for the advanced, & have also received notice of the dispatch of the Oxford exams, - so they should be here quite soon now. Jimmy and I are still working hard as theater electricians - he is also one of my closest friends, - maybe in one of your next letters you would like to “provisionally” invite him down for a visit sometime after we get back. The other day somebody thought my photograph of Mother by the drawing room window was one of my wife! – Quite a compliment but a very easy mistake to make. Space is limited, but I must thank you again for the parcel. I am writing to Aunty[indecipherable word] this month, must stop, all my love, John
M.
