WING-COMMANDER G.P. Gibson [italics] (centre) and his fellow “dam-busters” of the Möhne and Eder raid received their honours from H.M. the Queen acting as deputy for the King. This was the first occasion when a Queen Consort has held an Investiture. W/C. Gibson received his V.C. and Bar to his D.S.O., and his thirty-three comrades were all decorated. [/italics]
