Dear Squadron Leader Kellett
At His Majesty’s command I am making known to you the terms of the following message which the King has sent in connection with your flight:-
“Please send my sincere congratulations to the pilots and crews of the three long range Wellesley bombers on their successful flight from Egypt to Australia. It is a source of deep satisfaction to me to know that the men and machines of the Royal Air Force have been able to establish a world record for long distance flying.
George R.I.”
