My darling Jean,

Just a few lines to let you know everything is O.K, we had quite a good journey back, met the boys O.K. at Liverpool Street and arrived in camp at 11 o/c after stopping on the way for a glass of water.

Since we have been on leave things have altered quite a bit

quite a few of our old pals have left and we ourselves are beginning to feel like ancient relics, we're not very busy and I think I could occuppy [sic] my time better at home, what say you? really darling I did enjoy my leave, each time I feel more fed up when I come back, expect you feel the same, by the way any blisters appeared yet?

There's been quite a bit of promotion in the crew, Jack has his

Flight Lieutenant and both Tommy & Peter their flight sergeant. We are thinking of going out tonight to wet the new promotions. I believe I mentioned that Ron is finished, he goes on leave on Monday so that the last I expect we shall see of him. At the moment we're not quite sure when we're finishing, don't think it will be long, think the chances of hanging out until July are pretty remote, still live in hopes.

I've just received a letter from Aunt Jill, she enclosed your reply to the B.W.C.

The weather has been pretty cold these last few days, in fact there was snow on the ground this morning, as all the heating is turned off it's pretty miserable at the moment.

Well, my dear, will pack up for the time being, take care of yourself. Hope to hear from you soon.

All my love darling

Yours Jack
