Monday.

My dearest Jean,

Just a few lines to let you know everything is alright and also because we are standing by for the Italy trip and its possible we may leave tomorrow, if that is the case we should be back Thursday or Friday.

I’ve just written to Mother and Dad direct to Broadstairs, I hope they will enjoy the few days rest, they certainly deserve it.

Further to the gen on disbandment of the squadron, apparently we are to be declared tour expired, that means we should get some leave

however as we all want to stay together and do a few more trips to Italy Jack is thinking of trying to get three months extension, I don’t think it will come off but he can try.

Thanks so much for the parcel and birthday cards, please thank Mother also, the wedding cake I’m dishing out amongst the boys when we get them together.

The weather has turned much cooler today and last night we had quite a thunderstorm with plenty of rain, hope it keeps fine for the rest of the holiday.

I hope I can get home fairly soon then I can help you with the flat, I’ve thought out personal idea’s about the kitchen, but I

really want to see you and talk it over, anyway I don’t suppose much progress has been made as Mr Bristow’s son is going on holiday, if we can get the electric light organized it will be a good step forward.

Practically the whole camp has had a weekend off and we should have had one if we were’nt standing by, however we have been promised a 48 later one, whether we shall get it is another matter.

Well darling theres not much more to write about, it seem ages since I saw you

and I miss you terribly, the other night I woke up and wondered where you were, it took me some time to realize that I was back on camp!.

Well will say cheerio for the moment as the post goes at 11AM.

Hope to be seeing you soon, remember me to Mother & Dad.

Take care of yourself, all my love darling.

Yours Jack
